Last updated on October 22, 2023

Today’s car is a 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super Euro Spec that was newly acquired by Francesco Aiello. I photographed this car at Caffeine Cruisers Cars & Coffee located in Torrance, CA. The car is finished in Beige Cava with a dark red vinyl interior. It is powered by a 105 hp, 1.6 liter, twin-cam inline 4 cylinder engine, with twin Weber 40DCOE carburetors and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with 4.56:1 rear axle. Slowing this beauty down are Dunlop disc brakes in all 4-corners. It has independent front suspension with double wishbones and coil springs. The rear suspension is solid axle with coil springs. The wheels are upgraded 15-inch Alfaholics GTA alloy wheels are a nice touch.

The Giulia Super with 85,000 units built was introduced at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show and continued to be in production until 1972. The MSRP at point of entry (POE) was $2995.00. It has a published top speed of 106 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 11.2 seconds. This is beautifully maintained dual purpose sports sedan that was designed to handle like a sports car. Known for its quickness and agility it was used in many Italian movies over the years as pursuit vehicles. What a great car to take to European car shows, Cars & Coffee events, or just going through the S’s in the canyons with some like minded friends. Thank you for riding along. Frank
