1956 Chevrolet Corvette “Barbie’s”

Today’s car is a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette that is an operational replica owned by “Barbie”. I photographed it at Hot Wheels Legends Tour held at Mattel Inc in El Segundo, CA. This car is the car used in The Movie “Barbie”. The car is finished in neon pink with white and chrome bodywork and features a light-pink and cream interior. The back seat was added to accommodate Ken? While it would have been powered by a 265 cu in, V8 engine with a  Carter carburetor and mated to a 3-speed manual transmission with 3.27:1 rear axle. This one is powered by an electric motor conversion.

The total 0f 3,467 1956 Corvettes were produced. The MSRP was $3120.00. The car is a running, operational replica, but not road legal. It was custom made and is smaller than an original car to meet the aesthetic requirement of the movie. That just sounded a little over the top to me, but it was to make the characters look more toy like. That said, it still would be a great car to take to Corvette car show or Cars and Coffee events and watch and hear the comments. Thank you for riding along. Frank
