1939 Citroën Traction Avant

Last updated on September 16, 2021

Today’s car looks to be around 1939 Citroën Traction Avant (front-wheel-drive). It is finished in Black and Silver with a Black interior. This is a street spot. It is powered by a 117 cu in, 1.9 liter, with a Solex or Zenith carburetor in-line 4 cylinder engine producing 57 hp and transferring that power through a 3 – speed manual transmission. This body style is the first generation Citroën Traction Avant produced from 1934 – 1957 a good 23 year run. Over 23 years and a total of 759,111 had been built.

Interesting car and I have no idea of its story. Not your typical collector car at least in this part of the world. Thanks for riding along. Frank

Michelin Pilote wheels were fitted from 1938 but were replaced by plain steel wheels with a small chromed hubcap when production started after the second world war..
