Last updated on January 10, 2022

Today’s car is a 1972 Citroën 2CV6 Saloon. It is owned by Franc and Beth. It is finished in Beige Gazelle with a Beige interior with red striped seat covers and Black roll-back soft top. The car is equipped with three-point seatbelts up front, new in 1972, and rear lap belts. It is powered by a air cooled front wheel drive 36.7 cu in, 0.602 liter, 2 cylinder flat twin engine with Solex single barrel carburetor, producing 32 hp. Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Delivering that power to the front wheels through 4.12 to 1 gear ratio. Slowing this baby down are inboard drum brakes in front with outboard drums in the rear. The suspension, is more words than I have space for so I have added this link. The link for the Citroën 2cv suspension. Click here.

The total number of 1972 Citroën’s produced was 420,067 of which 133,530 were the 1972 Citroën 2CV6 Saloon. Top speed is 68 mph. 0 to 62 mph is 35 seconds.

I saw this car at a neighborhood Christmas gathering. This is a great car that is unique and rare here in the states. It gets plenty of attention. Great for French car shows, early morning Cars and Coffee, and a nice cruise up the coast for a picnic on the beach. Thanks for riding along. Frank

Beth asked me if I saw what was wrong with this car? I have to admit that I had no clue. The hood ornaments are upside down. They should be more like a corporal insignia.
This photo has a cameo appearance of Dave!!! Dave organized the neighborhood gathering.
