1957 Ford Thunderbird

Last updated on September 5, 2021

Todays car was found just a 1/3 of a mile from yesterdays 1957 Chevy just parked on the street.

Today’s Car is a 1957 Ford Thunderbird done in Colonial White with a Black Vinyl soft top.  The interior color combination is Black / White.  This is the year the addition of circular porthole became standard in the hard top roof to improve rearward visibility.  I find this kind of funny, if you are normal height you could not look straight out the side windows because your eye level was above the top of the side windows.  The standard engine was a 292 cu in V8  and rated at 212 hp and could be mated to a 3-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive or Ford-O-Matic 2-speed automatic transmission.  There were 3 versions of the optional 312 ci engine.  The single 4 barrel Holley carburetor 245 hp, the two 4 barrel Holley carburetor 270 hp, A racing version of two 4 barrel 285 hp and supercharged version 300 hp.  Outside of the electric fan visible through the front grill this car is a very nice example of an original looking 1957 Thunderbird.
Thanks for riding along. Frank
